JOB SUMMARY
Directs traffic at solid waste facilities. Monitors incoming waste for hazardous materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given for those with at least one (1) year of closely related experience, such as directing traffic, flagging, or working in or around construction sites, landfills, recycling facilities, or compost operations.
Must possess a valid driver’s license by the State of Utah at the time of hire.
Must obtain flagging certification within six (6) months of hire date.
Must receive a verified negative test result on a mandatory drug test before starting in this position. Will be subject to random alcohol and drug testing. May be subject to post accident and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires driving and sitting in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time; a full range of motion in the shoulders, arms, hands, wrists, legs, and feet; and manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Requires bending, stooping, lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 60 pounds on an intermittent basis.
Work is performed outdoors with exposure to all elements. Constant exposure to traffic hazards, extreme heat and cold, noise, dust, fumes, grease, and unsanitary conditions.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION
The Solid Waste Division is open six (6) days a week and is open on most holidays. This position will require working different shifts, weekends, and holidays. This position is subject to being called to work prior to or after the scheduled shift.
