JOB SUMMARY
Performs custodial cleaning, minor maintenance work and general building security in an assigned building or building area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Six (6) months custodial work experience or other closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah shall be required at the time of hire for some agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Knowledge of:
• Methods, materials and equipment essential for custodial maintenance functions
Skills and Abilities to:
• Use standard equipment and supplies applicable to custodial/maintenance work
• Establish and maintain schedules
• Perform minor equipment repairs
• Follow verbal and written procedures and instructions
• Establish and maintain effective working relationship with employees, supervisors and the general public
This position includes a mix of both custodial and event operations work and will primarily focus on setting up and cleaning up tables and chairs for events, as well as custodial tasks to keep the event space clean. The schedule will vary each week based on the event schedule, with some negotiable flexibility. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can prioritize daily tasks, independently. Ability to set up and take down for events with minimal supervision. This role requires adaptability to changing event needs, consistent physical exertion, and ability to read and understand event layouts.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be exposed to extreme outdoor temperatures for some duties.
May involve potentially dangerous situations that require compliance with safety precautions and require the use of protective equipment.
Requires ability to lift, push or pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds, climb or balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and use arms simultaneously with upper and lower body twisting.
