JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the division's information and technology needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other closely related field in computer programming, plus five (5) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must successfully pass an initial criminal background check as well as every year thereafter by the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI).
A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manages all aspects of the division’s information systems, such as the database management, software and hardware technical supports, network operation and management, website design and updates, IT security, etc.
• Recommends and implements system and technology solutions and improvements, troubleshooting systems and technology, automating organizational tasks.
• Manages electronic controlled assets, recommends and purchases computer-related equipment and components as needed and approved by the division’s director and fiscal manager.
• Assists the division’s director and program managers to provide the management data and reports to meet the funding agencies’ requirements and management needs to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the program operations.
• Supervises staff, which includes hiring, orienting, training, assigning and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisals, and discipline.
• Provides the help desk services to the division’s computer users.
• Division’s liaison to County’s Information Services to coordinate the major projects, such as the server and IT infrastructure upgrades, the database maintenance and trouble shooting, and etc.
• Maintains user accounts, domain groups, and computers in the County Active Directory system.
• Provides/generates the reports from the different databases to assist the division’s director and program managers improve effectiveness of program operations.
• Provides the computer trainings as needed. Oversees the training materials, such as the manual, the guidebook, the how-to steps, and etc. to the computer users.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
