JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this internship is to provide a learning experience related to high-profile policy development, implementation, and project management. This opportunity provides interns firsthand experience with a wide variety of projects and programs working alongside senior staff in the Mayor’s Office. In addition to county-level work, the internship may also expose the intern to state and federal work.
The Mayor’s Office oversees a range of policy initiatives, special projects, program partnerships, and funding collaborations that help achieve the Mayor’s vision. We work with local governments and with national, state, and private sector partners to develop collective action around regional challenges, entrenched social problems, and unique opportunities to maximize the public good. This currently includes policy initiatives on regional development, public asset management, homelessness and housing, criminal justice reform, and child and family stability.
Applicants should have a strong interest in political research, policy development, project management, and government processes. Work is primarily Monday through Friday with flexible hours to accommodate a school schedule. There may be occasional work on the weekends.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor OR Graduate program.
