JOB SUMMARY
This is a Time Limited Vet Tech position who coordinates and oversees the Pet Assistance on Wheels Mobile Veterinary Clinic. This includes coordinating and promoting services to the cities in the county, driving vehicle to designated event site, canvassaing neighborhoods for scheduling of services, along with veterinary technician work on the mobile clinic.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two (2) years’ experience as a Vet Assistant or Vet Tech, or other closely related field, OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
OR
Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, or other closely related field, plus one (1) year of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Along with, Veterinary Technology certification through the State of Utah, or certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
A valid Driver’s License recognized by the State of Utah is required to operate a Salt Lake County vehicle at the time of hire.
Must receive a verified negative test result on a mandatory drug test before starting in this position. Will be subject to random alcohol and drug testing. May be subject to post-accident and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program by current County Human Resources policy
requirements.
