JOB SUMMARY
Operate and monitor the courthouse control room radio console, Computer Aid Dispatch (CAD) system, access control, camera system, duress system, intercoms, computer, and telephones simultaneously to maintain constant coverage and courthouse security.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two (2) years of directly related experience (e.g., Law Enforcement, Facility Protection, Security, Dispatch, Corrections, Loss Prevention, Video Surveillance, Call Center).
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must pass the Sheriff’s Office required Drug Test.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Controls employee, prisoner, and court patron access to court holding, visiting booths, secure parking and other employee only secure entrances/areas.
• Remotely monitors movement throughout courthouse, identifies emergency situations and calls for appropriate law enforcement and/or medical emergency response, and expedites access through the facility.
• Observes prisoners and staff during movement inside the secure areas, within holding cells and visiting booths.
• Monitors all camera systems to detect and dispatch assistance for suspicious circumstances, emergencies and special events.
• Responds to all system alarms, and intercom communications with prisoners and staff; facilitates emergency response following court security plans, site procedures and Sheriff's Office Policy.
• Receives and dispatches information utilizing the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and follows direction of supervisors or commanders to perform call out for specialized units.
• Monitors and controls radio traffic within facility, including shutting down non-emergency traffic during a crisis.
• Answers phones and assists in answering questions and requests from Judges, court staff, law enforcement and other court patrons.
• Observes and participates in testing controls for alarms, doors, and elevators and monitors electronic security systems for alarms and problems.
• Monitors and tests recording equipment for cameras; downloads and copies video.
• Utilizes RMS, UCJIS and other databases to process law enforcement requests, verify warrants and NCIC hits.
• Answers GRAMA requests, prepares statistical reports, audits databases for accuracy.
• Monitors intelligence sources, does analysis, prepares and disseminates bulletins.
• Prepares daily logs, reports and enters information into databases to capture activities.
• Assists with background investigations, reference checks, employment checks, etc.
• Helps create and maintain job specific policy, procedures and post orders.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Works in a secure Correctional Facility, requiring constant attention to safety and security measures while working around prisoners.
The job requires sitting for long periods of time, reaching, working with hands, and working in stressful situations where there may be danger to the life, body, and/or health of others.
Requires no uncorrected hearing loss in either ear, visual acuity for far, near, and peripheral sight including depth perception and color vision.
Required to handle emergencies or crises including callouts.
