JOB SUMMARY

 

Provides case management assistance in order to ensure continuous documentation and dissemination of client activity to involved criminal justice personnel.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Social Science, or Criminal Justice, or other closely related field, plus one (1) year of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

 

Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Researches all client activity from previous court date and prepares the court calendar for staffing to include client attendance, sanctions, community service, drug tests, etc.
  • Attends weekly pro-court staging and reports to case managers and treatment staff on client participation and compliance.
  • Attends court sessions and records (in database) all in-court client court activity, including sanctions, bench warrants, pleas, treatment recommendations, in-court drug testing results, termination, and sentencing information.
  • Summarizes court proceedings into written documents and distributes to case managers and treatment teams.
  • Utilizes drug court database to assist judge with in-court inquiries regarding client’s progress, testing results, treatment/class attendance, etc.
  • Assists with the daily operation of the drug-testing program, maintains drug testing log, and forwards daily changes to drug testing provider. Compiles daily drug testing results into a written reports and distributes to case managers and drug court teams.
  • Runs bench warrant checks on clients and reports results to Drug Court teams.
  • Interacts with criminal justice agencies, treatment agencies, and other agencies providing services to clients.
  • Provides law enforcement personnel with requested client information.
  • Provides information on policies, procedures, services, ordinances, and application requirements to agencies, other employees, and to the public.
  • Provides psychoeducational instruction and life skills education to clients. Documents progress for treatment teams and case managers.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Work duties are typically performed in a general office setting or courtroom environment.

 

Travels to locations throughout the County.
