JOB SUMMARY
Oversees the book sales for the division.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Six (6) months of office or administrative experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receives, unpacks, sorts, and organizes withdrawn or surplus library materials from branches and departments.
- Manages inventory for book sales, both online and physical, including organizing and tracking items listed on platforms such as Amazon.
- Communicates with customers, staff, and vendors to resolve questions, complaints, and issues related to transactions or shipments.
- Prepares materials for outgoing shipment via freight carriers or internal delivery carriers.
- Determines appropriate disposition of materials based on condition, demand, and resale value, including listing items on Amazon or other approved platforms, transferring to bulk resale vendors (e.g., ThriftBooks), or discarding.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of online sales transactions and communications.
- Creates accurate and effective online sales listings for items using relevant bibliographic, descriptive, and condition information.
- Follows library and platform guidelines to maximize resale value, maintain seller standards, and support efficient workflow.
- Verifies and fulfills online purchases using platforms such as Amazon Seller Central and eBay.
- Provides statistics and generates reports using utilities within the various online platforms.
- Ensures that user profiles in online selling platforms are up to date and settings are optimized.
- Uses a purchasing card to order supplies and goods or pay vendors for services.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily in an indoor environment. Significant standing and walking. Requires the ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach up to six feet (with or without a step stool), lift up to 30 pounds, and push/pull a loaded shelving cart weighing up to 150 pounds.
